As most of you might know Disney is coming out with a highly anticipated movie called Oz: The Great and Powerful....Cast members include: James Franco as Oscar, Mila Kunis as Theodora, Michelle Williams as Glinda, and Rachel Weisz as Evanora. Everyone tends to think that it's supposed to be "the Wizard of Oz" but this movie doesn't involve Dorothy and her journey down the yellow brick road. This is more about us being introduced to Oz and the three witches, and this is how Oz gets its "great and powerful" wizard. Personally, I am counting down the days until its March 8th showing, because it is starring my two favorite actresses (Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams)...Mila Kunis is mainly my most favorite, but Michelle charmed her way into my top favorite list because I have watched a few of her movies on Netflix lately and she is phenomenal and so beautiful. I cannot wait to see her in action as Glinda, the good witch, which brings me to the point of this blog post: I recently purchased Urban Decay's Oz: The Great and Powerful eyeshadow palette in Glinda. Which is surprising even to me, because you get to pick between the Theodora (Mila) or Glinda (Michelle)...the Theodora is represented by my most fave actress and represents more of the dark side, which I always seem to be more attracted to, but for once I wanted to branch out and try something new. So like I said, I bought the Glinda palette.
It includes the eyeshadow palette, a lipstick/gloss pencil, and a "get the look" card.
This Super-Saturated high gloss lip color (sampled above) in Glinda has a nude pink shimmer
I just love the packaging of this palette, don't you?
From left to right: Tornado,Aura (duo shade),Magic,Illusion,Oz,South
Samples, from top to bottom:South, Illusion, Magic, Tornado
Duo shade samples, from top to bottom: Silver,Gold (from Oz),Rose iridescent shade from Aura,Violet iridescent shade from Aura.
The palette also includes a 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Rockstar, a dark purple shade (sampled below)
Well that is my review, I hope to record a makeup tutorial using these wonderful things soon. But in the meantime, here's the Oz trailer if you've yet to see it.
Hello dolls! I posted a vid on YouTube about the things I got for Christmas or bought with Christmas money. I should've probably posted this a few weeks ago but oh well, I'm doing it now. The first thing I wanna talk about is my Macbook pro which I loooooove and am actually typing on as we speak. I am a big Apple fan because it's very "music-enthusiast-friendly", which means it's great for those who want to store all there music on their laptop so they can listen to it on the go. I have also been using it to record my YouTube videos because it's perfect for photo and video editing.
Isn't it pretty? Lol
I also got a Juicy Couture Laptop sleeve to accessorize my laptop.
I Looooooooooovvvveee Juicy Couture, but that's a-whole-nother story
Then I had some extra money so I ordered my sequined Victoria's Secret Love Pink Backpack that I just adore. It retailed around $79.50 +tax.
I got this Minnie Mouse inspired polka-dotted cross-body bag from Target for $19.99
I got this gorgeous pink sparkly clutch at Target for $8.48 which was the clearance price.
Make Up
My mom picked this out for me it was the Too Faced Sweet Treats Palette. It's probably my favorite thing I got cosmetics-wise.
Once you open the lid you first see an eyeshadow palette and this is what it looks like. I'll list the eyeshadow names in case you can't read that little 0.o
Top Row (from left to right) In the Buff, Peach Fuzz, Marshmallow, Lovey Dovey. Second Row (from L to R) Copper Peony, Teddy Bear, Gum Drop, Malted Milk Ball. Third Row (from L to R) Satin Sheets, Nice Stems, Nice Ash, Cherry Cola. Last Row (from L to R) Honeymoon, Pastille, Cop A Teal, Black Sugar. I cannot wait to use this palette. I've been a lil lazy with my makeup lately :((((
Then you pull these lil black ribbons up and remove the eyeshadow portion (like a lid) and it reveals this blush and face palette. You get two bronzers in Executive Bronzer and Sun Bunny Light. And two blushes in La Vie en Rose and Papa Don't Peach. (Nice Madonna song reference btw) You also get a face illuminant in Candlelight Glow. You get these look cards that instruct you on how to do different looks. You get a two sided brush and an Eye Shadow Insurance.
I got this gorgeous Calvin Klein eyeshadow palette at Ulta for $25 (yes CK does cosmetics now lol) They are swatched below as you can see the two top colors (the light purple and darker purple) are swatched in the picture down at the bottom and the less sparkly colors are swatched in the picture next to it.
I got this Cargo palette in Tahiti (name of palette; I didn't go all the way to Tahiti and back for this) at Ulta for $25 (in case you haven't noticed I'm a sucker for eyeshadow palettes hehe) They are swatched as you can see and they make a gorgeous smokey eye.
And finally, Idk if any of y'all know this but I am a huuuuuuge Kat Von D fan. Not only is she an amazing tattoo artist and cosmetic designer but we also share a nickname, yes my friends, family and others close to me call me Cat. And she is famous for her outrageous smokey eye which brings me to my last items, her Shade Shifter eye shadows. From Top to bottom and left to right we have Stockholm which is a nice pigmented blue eye shadow and the reason these are called Shade Shifters is because they change shades when the light hits them right, and are even better when you wet the sponge applicator and apply. Next is On the Road which is a nice shade of brown. And then last, but not least is Devotion which is a yellowish orange color. (P.S. I don't know why the colors aren't popping as much for some reason my flash wouldn't bring out those hues, I'm sorry :/ but take my word for how awesome they are) This isn't everything that was in my video, I chose to blog about those I was most excited about. You can check out the rest in my video:
Pardon my bad video presence. I have a mild case of camera fright, but I am working on it.
Oh My-lanta! As most of you may not know, I have become more and more obsessed with Disney and the Disney princesses, but more so I am a huge fan of Snow White. And the fact that there is a show called Once Upon A Time-which is based off all these wonderful movies and fairytales-is not helping my addiction. With that being said this is my new favorite tv show. I know it's been out a while and I actually started watching it when it first aired but after the episode with Cinderella (which is like the 5th or 6th episode of the first season) my dvr kinda snoozed on me :(. And I received a best buy gift card during a game of chinese gift exchange that me and my family traditionally play every year at Christmas so I was able to purchase a iTunes card which is how I was able to buy the entire season of season one of Once Upon A Time. And so far I LOVE IT!
Hello ladies (and gents...i guess) it has been a while since I posted anything. My last post was for a school project so that doesn't really count. I am going to work harder on posting things to my blog. It may not be every day that I post something because my life isn't that exciting but it will be as frequent as every three weeks or something like that.
But anyways, I have acquired some goodies from Ulta, Sephora, M.A.C, and the like. I will try and get as many reviews on these products as I can so just bear with me. The most recent thing I bought and was able to try is the Erase Paste by Benefit (pictured below)
Retails @ Ulta for $26
I've only used it once and I love it. I love the consistency and the packaging of it. I used it on my eyes because I have dark circles under my eyes but you can use it anywhere where you have imperfections.
Below is a picture of me before and after I used the Erase Paste. Before
After (Left side has nothing, right side has erase paste)
You probably won't be able to tell because the lighting was bad but I promise you it's a great product.
Hello lovelies, this is a basic overview of my top 10 favorite items for the past month, and since I just got a blog account and it's already June, I just figured I'll make these my favorite/new purchases of June.
1. First item would be Dior's Iconic Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black (can't remember actual shade). I was at the mall on saturday and a sales associate at Dillard's pitched me the specials that were going on at the Dior counter and I was sold. The deal was if you buy 2 mascaras ($31 each including tax) you get a free spa day. So now my mother and I have a spa day planned for the 9th of June (yayyyy!!!). It goes on great, no clumps, and one coat goes a long way and it really is wa-ter-proof!
2. Next item would be the Chance fragrance by Chanel (pink liquid). This is my most worn fragrance and it smells so feminine and yummy and it lasts all day. It is the only Chanel product I own, so yes, I am proud lol. It costs about $65 and it is worth every penny.
3. Maybelline's Color Tattoo Eyeshadows in Tenacious Teal (left) and Painted Purple (right). These are very pigmented eye shadows and they really do last all day. Approximately 7 or 8 dollars and can be purchased at any drugstore.
4. S Factor's Creamy Molding Wax: This is a really good hair product, it is great for texturizing and styling choppy layered haircuts also.
5. Paul Mitchell's Lemon Sage Thickening Spray (travel size). This hair product is amazing, not only does it thicken your hair, but it also leaves it smelling nice and fresh. Can be purshased at CVS for approximately $6.
7. Benefit's Cabana Glama Makeup Kit. Comes complete with a bronzing sample in Hoola (top right corner) and brush (below). A Posietint cheek and lip stain. (bottom right corner). A Some Kind-a Gorgeous (The Foundation Faker) in Medium (top left corner). And Eyeshadows (left bottom corner left to right) in Peach Fizz, Bronze Buzz, and Cocoa Pizzazz and an double-ended sponge applicator. This can be purchased at Ulta for approximately $42.
8. Milani's Baked Blush in Corallina. This blush is so fun and perfect for summer. It has a nice coral-y color, but when the light hits it, it's got a pink tint to it. Can be purchased at any drugstore for around $8.
9. Revlon's Colorburst Lip Butter. (Left to Right) Sweet Tart, which is a nice candy pink. Lollipop, which is more of a purple-y pink, Tutti Frutti, which is a orangish color. All perfect for summer. All available at drugstores for around $8.
10. Hawaiian Tropic's Shimmer Effect After Sun Moisturizers. In Coconut Papaya fragrance. This is perfect as a lotion to put on after sunbathing, or even just to wear for the hell of it. It has a nice shimmery finish, that gives your skin a glowy tone and it smells delightful. Available at drugstores for around $7.
Well that's my top ten products, hope you enjoyed it. Don't feel as if you have to rush out and purchase these things, but they are must-haves.
